We are pleased to announce the newest product in our line of licensed collectibles from the HBO® series Game of Thrones®. The Lannister Shield is made from resin and fiberglass with an embossed Lannister sigil. It was modeled directly on the actual screen used prop from the show, with accurately matched finishes and dimensions. It will come with a certificate of authenticity and wall mount. The Lannister Shield will retail for an MSRP of $250, we will start accepting preorders, on Saturday April 18th, for early Summer 2015 deliveries.

We plan to be shipping out Oathkeeper (stainless) and Jaime Lannister’s Sword soon. As in next week. So if you’ve moved or otherwise changed address since you ordered please email or phone us to let us know. Do not merely update your address on your account on our website, those changes aren’t retroactive on old orders, old orders need to be manually updated by us. Thank you. For those wondering, Damascus Oathkeeper & Arakh should ship in May, preorders for Needle and Lannister Shield should be in April.

This past weekend we exhibited at Indiana Comic Con and met up with both Rory McCann and Jason Momoa. Rory posed with both Ice and his helm (and yes, it fits). Jason signed our prototype arakh for us, so now it is both a prototype, and autographed, nice huh?

On completely unrelated news. Jaime’s sword and stainless Oathkeeper are still scheduled to ship the last week of March (possibly 1st week of April at the latest) and Ice Damascus is almost sold out, I think we’re down to single digits.

We also took pictures of all our GOT/ASOIAF cosplayers, check them out here.

We’ve donated some products to Worldbuilders again this year. Two of particular note.

You can view all their auctions here. But the two most of you will be interested in are here:

Ice Damascus Artist Proof

Longclaw Damascus Artist Proof

So, every time we make a product, we also need to make some for HBO to give to VIPs. GRRM gets at least one of everything, and while HBO doesn’t share their VIP list with us, I can only imagine that the showrunners, maybe the president of the network, directors, costume designers, and actors get these. In these cases, we made 18 extra of each damascus sword, but HBO didn’t need all 18, and they kindly let us sell or otherwise dispose of the extra. We previously auctioned a set of the two swords above and together they went for around $3500 as I recall, this time we’ve donated a set to Worldbuilders, but they’ve chosen to auction them separately.

So, what you have, is essentially an edition of 18, where most of those 18 are going to VIPs, making these highly collectible.

So bid like you’re voting in Chicago, early and often. Worldbuilders is a great charity, sort of a meta charity, because what they do is raise money for another charity, Heifer International, which is a great “teach a man to fish” sort of charity. Where rather than doing things like providing food aid to poor subsistence farmers in developing countries, they instead provide livestock and education so that the family can learn to use their livestock to provide for themselves, and the first baby their livestock has is given back to Heifer to give to a new family making it a bit viral. It is almost like a grant to a poor subsistence farmer to increase his production so in the future he will not need grants, the best form of charity, it helps people help themselves.

PS: My understanding is eBay isn’t giving kind international shipping quotes for these auctions. If you’re international and interested in bidding contacting them for an exact quote might be worthwhile. I wouldn’t trust the ebay shipping quotes, they’re much higher than they need to be.

Christmas is on a Thursday, most international destinations could received delivery by Christmas even if they order as late as December 21st and choose UPS Express (or Express Saver) shipping. Order by December 17th and choose UPS Expedited shipping. For cheaper regular mail shipping anytime after this Friday and you’re really pushing your luck, though it is possible you can still get it ordering as late as perhaps the 12th, it would not be guaranteed. For domestic US shipments you can order next day air by the morning of the 23rd and have it delivered in time for Christmas. 2nd day air on the 22nd, 3 day select on Friday the 19th. Ordering by the 17th should allow regular ground shipping to reach you anywhere in the US (except Alaska and Hawaii), the closer you are to Michigan the longer you can wait on that ground cutoff.

At long last I can share with you some news on our GRRM A Song of Ice and Fire book license. We have new approved concept art, it took awhile, but here is Oathkeeper.

oathkeeperconcepts

Again, this was designed working with George R.R. Martin through our book license, it is not a replica of Oathkeeper as see on the HBO show.

George did not want to use paint and the only way we know to do the red and black blade is with a chemical patina on real damascus, so our intention here is to make only a real damascus version of this sword, there will not be a plain steel version. We also intend to include a custom poster featuring artwork the includes the sword, along with the typical GRRM autographed COA.

At this point preorders will not be opening soon, this is just the first step. Expect preorders possibly late Winter 2015, and deliveries around a year from now, assuming we get the prototype in and everyone is happy with it.

We also got approved concept art for Daario’s ladies on the book license, which will be shared with you soon.
