I’m sure this’ll be on his blog, but just in case you don’t read it.

I got an email from him this morning.

10 Thoughts on “HBO News from George

    Squee-de-freakin-SQUEEEE!!

More reason to not cancel HBO. ^_^

  2. Very cool. Its nice to see progress being made!

  3. Fantastic! I’ve been waiting for this moment since I first saw the Variety article announcing that HBO had optioned the series.

Looking at HBO’s big budgets, and the subject matter they’ve dealt with in the past, there isn’t a better company to make it than they! :D

  4. I saw this in my email and shouted “YES!” in a really weird and throaty voice of satisfaction.

I simply cannot wait. I’ve been waiting for news since the Variety article, but it kind of drifted out of my thoughts for a bit.

    But YES!

  5. But since the series isn’t done couldn’t that be a snag when they get to later seasons? Plus a lot of the characters are teens or children and so if they have to wait for the books to come out they may be to old to play their characters when seasons 6 & 7 come out. Don;t get me wrong, I;m very excited about this, I just hope they don’t jump the gun in a way that doesn’t let the series get finished correctly.

When the series will be done (and when the last book will come out), we will have a high evoluted cloning-technology. rofl

    I’m italian and I have a question:
    what is HBO?
Is it a kind of tv-channel?

  7. Hbo is the channel behind sopranos and rome..
As you are italian, naybe those to series ring a bell m8

  8. As anyone who has read the books know, HBO is the perfect place for an adaptation. Take Deadwood and Rome, and imagine them in the ASOIAF universe, filth and intrigue and brutality and violence and, yes, tenderness and all, and it’s a winner. Unfortunately, the majority of humankind are idiots, so they’ll prolly tune in for American Idol or the Kardashians instead…

  9. Hey,does somebody know when can we watch the pilot?
    Release date?

    Tnx in advance… :D

  10. I’d rather see this go to Hollywood. TV series have a way of half a$$ing things sometimes. If HBO did lord of the Rings it would not have been as great. RR Martin is not going to finish the series anyways, so why bother with a TV show. I have been waiting for years for the next book. Now I just don’t fraking care.
