The first batch is done, but there is a caveat.

Because there were some blades we rejected for quality reasons, this first shipment is not going to contain linear edition numbers. For instance, we rejected #7, so this shipment will not include a #7. The person who would have #7 is going to be given the option of #8 or waiting, and so on. The first shipment is 54 swords, but goes up to number 87. The numbers skipped will be remade, but they will not make it until the second shipment

We will be trying to contact everyone individually, but you could save us some time if you do not care. So if you ordered Longclaw, and you would rather have the sword sooner, than wait for a potentially lower number, please contact us via email or respond to this post (with your name please so we can look you up) and let us know.

It is still 4+ weeks before they actually get in your hands at this point, but if you wait for the second shipment it could be 4 months.

The shipment is supposed to contain these numbers:

1,2,3,4,5,6, 8,9, 12,13,14,15,16, 20, 22, 25, 27,28,29,30,31,32,33,34, 36, 38, 43,44, 46, 48, 50, 54,55, 57,
60, 62,63, 66,67,68,69,70,71,72,73,74, 76, 78, 79, 80,81,84,85, 87.

So if I have previously told you your rough position (and it would be rough, there have been a handful of cancellations moving people up) count down that many numbers to see which one you could have from this shipment (approximately, if someone decides to wait, you move up this list).

This is a great example of why we cannot offer this kind of number matching service on the other swords where we’re dealing with 2000+ blades.

  14. Hi,I don’t know what number I was dealt but if it’s in the first 54, that would be spectacular. Being in the first batch would be great. Thanks for the hard work!

I don’t care what number I get. I’m not sure where I am on the ladder, but I ordered pretty early. Thanks for not giving up on this sword. I’m anxious to have one in my hands.

  17. Ryan you placed the 18th order so you’ll probably get one in the 20s. Steven, you’re in line for #4.

    Hello Valyrian!
I would take the sword now regardless of the number, but I don’t know my place in line.
Am I in this first batch?

    Thank you.

  20. Gustavo you have the 43rd order.

  21. First batch preferred, don’t know or care about the sword number.

  22. William on November 28, 2010 at 2:11 pm said:

I also do not care about number; first batch preferred, please.

  23. I will go with the first batch. Thank you

  24. What happened to the rejected swords? Will they be offered at a lower price to people who aren’t fussed about quality?

  25. I’m still wondering where I’m at. If you could give me a heads up it would be appreciated. Please send me a message to the e-mail associated with this account.

  26. Mitch, please make sure our emails are not being blocked by your spam filter.

Everyone, we plan to be able to ship Longclaw to you starting the first week of January.

  27. This is stupendous news!!!! I ,as well, do not care what number is on it so I’ll go with the first batch too. Was number 34.

  28. The boat isn’t going to leave until the 6th so the factory was able to get some more done, filling in the gaps with missing numbers. So now, we have pretty much every number available. And the firs tshipment should be 67, which means everyone who ordered already will get one. And we’ll even have a few leftover for people who order in the next month.

  29. Joseph on December 1, 2010 at 4:25 pm said:

Valyrian, wow, that is fantastic news!!! In fact, I just ordered another Damascus Longclaw and hope to get it on the first batch of 67. Thanks again for all your hard work!

  30. Wow, it’s been so long since I ordered I really cant believe the time is drawing so close.

I dont know what number I am but if I am up in this batch please send it regardless of SN.

Having any sword means more than trying to get a specific one.

  31. Oops, i guess I should have read all the comments.

    Wonderful news. :D

  32. first week of january + shipping time, = 3rd week of january! Hopefully.

could you please look up my number? I don’t know if it has moved up a line or not.

  34. Alexander, unless you used a different name and email while ordering. I have no order on file for you.

I inquired in November of 2009 and the response came back “22, give me an error margin of 1 though please.” I see 22 in the shipment numbers. Has it been bumped either way?

  36. Thanks to cancellations you’re up to 19th

  37. Alexander on December 8, 2010 at 2:53 am said:

I used the same name and email and paid on 23/02/09.

  39. Okay I found your order, you have the 42nd

  40. Alexander on December 10, 2010 at 3:51 am said:

Looks like you should make a neat order database or smth, eh? Is it original 42nd or currently 42nd?

  41. Hello, Valyrian. I asked about my place in an earlier update thread and never received a reply. Apparently there have also been some cancellations, so now I’m doubly curious. If you could spare a moment to check my place in the line, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

  42. By the way, my order number is:
    101027-234459-3640

  43. Hi! Sorry it took so long to respond to this– are any swords from the first batch still available?

Hey VS guys! Happy New Year! Any updates on the shipping of the Damascus Longclaw?
    Thanks!

  45. Valyrian, I, like Dwane, am curious about the shipping date for the damascus blades. The last impression you left us was that they would ship on January 8. I have checked my order status and it still seems to be in moratorium, maintaining the description, “processing.” Any further news would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

  46. It is very close. The swords arrived in Detroit today, that isn’t to say they’ll be to us up the road tommorow, they won’t, truckers, and schedules, and whatnot. But unless we get some horrible storm, next week I’m sure.

  47. Valyrian, thanks for the update. If I may impose once again on you for information, I would like to ask how we will be notified that our order is on the way. Will you send each customer an email, or will you simply update the shipment status to say something along the lines of “dispatched”?

  48. Yes. Both, and the shipping service will email you as well.

  49. Any news on shipping?

  50. Yes, they should start shipping out to customers tommorow, we started processing labels today.

  51. Hi Will it be a week before u ship internationally? Im going on vaction for a week.

  52. No Dale, your order has already been processed actually. It will probably take more than a week to get to you, but if you want to play it safe, I can hold it for a week before we let it out the door. Let me know.

  53. Chfranco on January 27, 2011 at 10:51 pm said:

  54. Hello, thanks for the news. and the hard work. Talked to postmaster they will hold it for me. So plz ship when ready. Thanks again.
