We are pleased to announce the newest product in our line of licensed collectibles from the HBO® series Game of Thrones®. The Stark Infantry Shield is made from cold rolled steel and features leather arm and shoulder straps on the back. It was modeled directly on the actual screen used prop from the show, with accurately matched materials and dimensions. Each shield is serialized and will come with a wall mount and a certificate of authenticity. The wall mount includes slots that will accept most swords to allow you to display up to three of your favorite swords behind the shield. The Stark Infantry Shield will retail for an MSRP of $300, we will start accepting preorders on Friday March 1st at 9 PM EST for Spring 2013 deliveries.

49 Thoughts on “Stark Infantry Shield

  1. Are these HBO licensed collectibles limited edition?

  2. Lucas Richardson on February 27, 2013 at 1:51 pm said:

What are the dimensions of the shield?.

  3. This one is not limited. It is serialized though (each one is numbered, we just aren’t going to limit the upper number). The shield is 27×27

  4. I’m sorry, 27×27 is the shipping box size, the shield is actually around 26×26

  5. Will Ohmes on February 27, 2013 at 2:15 pm said:

    Will other shields be made?

  6. Yes Will, we intend to make other shields. We’d like to make one for every great house given enough time. The Stark Shield is not limited, but the others likely will be.

  7. The shield is 26×26 ok; Exact scale than the HBO serie? 1:1 Scale as we can see in our Tv ?

  8. Exact scale. HBO sent us an actual prop used on the show, we measured it, and reproduced it in the exact same size. (this is also how we’ve done the other replicas, HBO sends us the props and we study them).

Any update on the scabbards for Robb’s sword? Or Longclaw?

I can surely see why you are doing this.
But honestly I would enjoy a lot more seeing products taken from the books and not from the HBO-show.

Once again, being faithful to an author’s creation does not pay back…so you have to please instead the mass of tv followers.

    That is sad.

(No doubts on the quality of your work…I’m just sad about the origin of the concept…)

Wow, I like it and I need it for my collection.
    Great work !!
Will come Ice & Longclaw steel and damascus version also this year?

  12. We like doing book replicas too Mathias, but George R.R. Martin is the busiest human on the planet. There is only so much he can do, and he is integral to the design of the book replicas. So we can only do those slowly and one at a time. With HBO, with the props already being made, we can go faster.

Yes Thomas, the new versions will be out this year.

  13. This shield looks great and I can’t wait to add it to my Valyrian collection. You guys really do put out great stuff and should be proud. Now, I have a couple of questions, my apologies if any have been addressed already:
1)Any chance of a Kingsguard helm from TV show?
2)Does your license cover crowns? I’d really like to see Renly’s crown or even Joff’s
3)How about Gendry’s bulls head helm?
    Thank you for your time

  14. 1. Yes
    2. No, sadly.
    3. Yes.

    2 out of 3 ain’t bad!

  15. who has the license to do the crown replicas? or has HBO not allowing it?

  16. First off im a different adam than the one above, i was just wondering if you could tell me what sort of price ice will be when its released?

Looking for some information on the sword slots for the shield’s wall mount.

I plan on mounting my ICE and my two Longclaws. Will the sword slots allow you to manipulate which part of the blade attaches to the wall mount so you can configure exactly how far each sword’s guard will be away from the shield?

    Thanks and great job again.

  18. Precisely Neil, we had to figure out a way to do that, depth adjustment. What it has is a nylon thumb screw allowing you to tighten down on the blade at the depth you desire, holding it in place.

I’m sorry, but I have to say that your original designs in the beginning for Longclaw, Ice, Needle, etc were much better than anything on the HBO series. It pains me to see that you have come to just cranking out these licensed designs that are frankly uninspiring.

Robb’s Sword in particular looks just looks like a generic sword I could buy at my local gaming geek/comic store.

Please understand I’m not blaming Valyrian Steel. I know these are HBO’s designs. I’m just saying yours are much, much better and I hope you return to them.

@valyrian Thanks that is what I needed to know. Sounds perfect.

  22. When we have a finalized prototype, that picture is of a prototype not quite finalized yet.

  23. Do you also plan to offer Ser Loras’ sword as well?

1 I know you have posted shipping will be this spring. Do you know a better date for this to start shipping?

2 I know you are planning on doing longclaw and ice again this year. Do you have any production pics or dates on that yet?

  25. 1. No, not yet, not on this. Spring goes until June 22nd though, we hope to make it in the Spring.

    2. Yes we will do them, no we have no pictures, yes we hope to have pictures soon.

Hey, I have two questions about Ice and Longclaw from HBO. I read that you wont make Longclaw full tang but you wont do that with Ice. Is that truth? Will Longclaw be shorter than the one from the show?

  30. Show Longclaw is not full tang. Show Ice is full tang. Show Longclaw will be the exact same size as the prop from the show.

  31. Javier on March 24, 2013 at 8:40 am said:

Thank you for the answer. Another question, what do you mean with full tang?

  32. Javier, I’ll attempt to explain tang.

When the make the sword, the metal itself won’t end at the hilt (handle) but will extend into it. It just gives is more stability.

  33. Javier on April 1, 2013 at 7:12 am said:

    Thanks, Ryan:)

  34. Adam on April 1, 2013 at 4:21 pm said:

Big sword then thanks for the response

I had read George R. R. Martin A Song Of Ice And Fire series published work, even in Spanish. In fact, I can’t read anything else since I stumbled with the A Game Of Thrones ages ago. So with that said, I must tell you that I respect Mr. Martin’s vision. But I’d never in my wildest dreams and imagination envisioned Ice sword like the one you had sold out.
The first time I watched the first episode of HBO series adaptation and saw Ice in the hands of Eddard Stark, suddenly I begun to search all over the web for a replica of that sword, the same sword I contemplated in my brain, when I read of Eddard Stark beheading the Night’s Watch Brother. And tragically when it’s beheaded ironically himself with it.
For me, the Ice sword you sold, it was more of a display piece then the actual real sword. I’d never liked the hilt and the crossguard of it.
For me, the one true sword is the one David Benioff and D. B. Weiss and the guys of HBO prop it.
SO I AM READY TO BE THE FIRST OWNER OF AN HBO SERIES GAME OF THRONES ICE SWORD.
Can you sent me an email a soon as you have and open order for that sword? and if it is that same replica Sean Bean carries at the first episode. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND DEDICATION TO THIS.

Will the Hbo series sword longclaw and ice be dull edged and/or is it possible to get them sharpened?
What are the dimensions of longclaw and ice(series)?

  39. Everything produced under the HBO license will ship to you unsharpened, what you do after you get it is up to you. Off the top of my head, Longclaw is 45 inches and Ice 58.

  40. Dan Martin on April 6, 2013 at 1:42 pm said:

Will you be making the dagger Bronn carries in the first episode of the third season, when he approaches the queen’s guard outside Tyrion’s room?

  41. Eskild Sørensen on April 10, 2013 at 6:21 am said:

Wil you be making ice and longclaw (series) in damascus steel? And wil the damasacus or the steel verison be limited edition?
Are you making scabbards for longclaw(series)?
    Do you ship to norway?

  42. Yes, and the damascus versions will be limited. We are making a Longclaw scabbard, and yes we can ship to Norway.

We do not intend to make Bronn’s dagger.

  43. Have you got an idea when preorder for the damascus Longclaw will be open yet?
Also do I need a permit to ship a sword to Australia?

  44. Several months still Ian, and only in Victoria.

I’ve just read up on your sword maintenance after purchasing your Robb Stark’s sword. Will the shield require the same kind of maintenance?

And why not make the replica swords, which are likely to just hang on a wall, out of stainless steel if it’s less maintenance? (Just curious, they are beautiful just a they are.)

  46. The shield should not require maintenance, the painted finish should mostly protect the steel, but yes, if it got soaked in water, it could rust, so dry it off promptly if that happens.

We don’t make everything out of stainless steel because some people prefer high carbon steel, so we do some one way, some the other way, in a vain attempt to make everyone happy.

Well, from all accounts you’re doing a pretty good job at making people happy. Thank you for these truly elegant collectibles, and outstanding customer service.
