Here is a list of shipping costs for Longclaw by country, these are all the countries people have previously asked about, if your country is not on this list, please speak up.
Countries where the postal service will accept extra large boxes:
Great Britain & Northern Ireland: $70
New Zealand $90
Countries where the postal service has a 42 inch maximum, which means it has to go UPS:
Russia *not yet figured, need addresses
Hungary *not yet figured, need addresses
Singapore *not yet figured, need addresses
Argentina *not yet figured, need addresses
Phillipines *not yet figured, need addresses
Israel *not yet figured, need addresses
Slovenia *not yet figured, need addresses
Countries cannot ship to because swords aren’t allowed by customs, sorry.
In all cases it is advised that customers check with local authorities to make sure they do not need a special license to buy a sword. Also, in almost all cases there will be taxes/duties you will have to pay upon arrival, we have no control over these nor do we know how much they will be. Every country has their own import tax rates.
I was curious as to how i go about preordering the longclaw. I really want to preorder but I dont see a link for it.
$70 for Northern Ireland? That’s pretty damn cheap. About £35. I really wan’t to get longclaw now
Ordering isn’t open yet Shirleen, it will open between now and Monday.
NOOOOOOOO! No Japan!
$350 to Australia. Wow! I had to pick my jaw up of the floor when I saw that. Is there no other cheaper method inwhich it can be shipped Down under? I feel at that price alot of Aussie fans are going to be pretty disappointed.
If its $350 for longclaw to be shipped, im worried for the cost of the valyrian sword ICE to be shipped.(the main sword im desperate to get my hands on).
If I new someone in New Zealand it would probably be cheaper to send Longclaw there, then to Australia. I hope you can find a cheaper option.
Looking at the brighter side of it though, atleast it can be shipped to Australia. I feel for the fans from the countries who’s customs dont allow it.
Monday cant come quick enough, im looking forward to seeing the picks. Then its decision time…..I really hope you can find a cheaper option by the time ICE is ready.
$350 for Australia! Jesus, nick is right, thats seriously disappointing. If only there was some other way..
If you have problems with shipping, you could always have it sent to a friend in another country and have them come visit you with your sword?
Ok … it’s quite the proce i imagine .. another thing .. in which way i can preorder ????? i read that it will open in a few days but i don’t find and i don’t read to way to
So, €41 delivery for Ireland for a €151.51 sword? Nice! Thank you, weak dollar!
Unfortunately there isn’t anything we can do about Australia short of cutting a sword in half. It, and the other countries listed, have a 42 inch length limit. We’ll be able to ship Needle there using cheap methods, but not Longclaw, and not Ice. At this point my only thought is for Australian fans to band together and pool your resources to buy a couple cases of Longclaw, which should result in cheaper shipping. An Australian retailer may also be willing to order them in bulk and we’d be willing to work with them as well if/when we open up wholesale ordering. It’d take 3 months, but a bulk ocean freight shipment would be cost effective.
To the fellow from Japan, I think its very odd we can’t ship to Japan considering the history of swordsmanship in that country, but they repeatedly reject swords we’ve tried to send. Ask around though, perhaps it is possible for you to obtain a license, in which case we’ll be willing to try to send you one, so long as you realize if it ends up rejected we won’t be able to refund the shipping.
1 case (4 swords) to Australia would be $900 for shipping. This is an estimate only, it could change so don’t hold us to it. That comes out to $225 per sword for shipping.
2 cases (8 swords) to Australia would be $1630, which is $204 per sword.
Also, when budgeting, remember there are customs duties that must be paid on arrival. I can’t tell you how much those are, it is a local thing. Your local UPS office or postal service might be able to give you an estimate though.
This is prob a dumb question buttt….what about AE addresses? They should pay U.S. charges if it ships USPS right?
Yes Josh, except I think customs restrictions still apply if you’re stationed in a country that forbids them.
In anycase, we’ve found the best thing is for us to ship to a homeland relative who can then forward the item as part of a care package. They tend to get through customs easier that way.
If we were to pre-order and needed to cancel due to financial reasons, would that be possible before the ship date?
I’m curious, with the preorders, does the amount have to be paid in full?
I’ll be sad if so, because I’ve been wanting and waiting for longclaw for awhile, but I won’t have the money needed by monday.
So will we be able to put partial money down now so I have it preordered, and then come time to get the sword itself pay the rest?
Hello, can swords be shipped to Serbia, and how much shippment would cost.
I live in Ljubljana(capital of Slovenia). How much would that cost?
To get quotes for these other countries I need full addresses not just cities, and Nebojsa, Serbia also has a 42 inch length limit so it is among the expensive ones.
Bones, yes, preorder deposits are 100% refundable.
Jon, you don’t need to send payment right away. When you order through our cart you select Check or Money Order payment, then you’re given instructions for making that payment. We will require it within 30 days or cancel your order, but so long as we get it within 30 days that is fine.
I live in Grand Blanc, but my brother lives in EL and I come over there all the time. Is there anyway I can preorder mine and just come over and pick it up from you guys directly? I’d love to meet the people behind the works of art.
I live close by too and would also be interested in meeting you guys and checking your shop out if that’s something you would do. =)
Can we start the preordering?? Please? i feel like a little kid the night before christmas. I just want to make sure i get one of the 2500, im worried they’ll be sold out before i get home tommorow and place my order. . . please tell me my fears are un-needed.
Ok, here’s my full address in Slovenia:
That’s the standard address format for Slovenia. So could we now get the estimated shipping costs, PLZ
Another down under customer, something is strange here, I have purchased other swords from the states that are over the 42 inch mark, LOTR – Anduriel for one and while the postage was not cheap it was nothing like $340.
Other swords have also been puchased and while I cannot be sure of their length of hand Iam sure that they exceeded the said 42 inches, so unless this is a new restriction….
By the way there are no customs duty on importing swords to Australia
Hi, my full adress is:
How much would shipping cost?
Finland is $70, you can order normally.
Ptolomy, I will get you a shipping quote.
David, there has always been a 42 inch limit, but it wasn’t always $350. That has to do more with the current price of oil. A few years ago it would have been $150 alas. That being said, I suppose it is possible someone snuck one in under the restrictions.
what about China? How much is it cost?
No shipping swords to Japan? Hasn’t anyone seen the wonderful documentary Kill Bill? You can just walk on a plane with one, caressing it the entire flight.
Hi all Australian buyers i have emailed a wholesaler in vic globalgear.com.au asking for a quote a importing a sword in more ask we my be able to get postage cheaper. Will post more info as i get it. Good luck to all.
I don’t suppose you have found a cheaper way to send this to Australia yet I would like to get one but when shipping coasts more then the sword it’s hard to justify it
YEs, we have Gregg. If you buy 40 or 50 of them.
Meaning, we have a cheap way to send them in bulk by boat to Australian retailers, but what they then chose to charge you is up to them. So I don’t know if it will be cheaper or not. We also haven’t reached out to any Australian retailers yet (though we do have our list of ones to do so with).
I’ve just noticed that it’s possible to order from Hungary. My Q is how much would it be? Hungary, 1022 Budapest
PS.: Are those pictures CG images or “real ones”? BTW how heavy is the sweet baby?
Is there any info on shipping cost to Slovenia? Address would be:
Smartinska cesta 55
Not to be a total math geek about this, but I remember doing a problem specifically about transporting a sword longer than shipping regulations allowed. If the maximum length of the package is 42 inches, you could potentially pack it in a 42 inch cube and either put the sword on a diagonal from the top right corner to the bottom left corner and fit up to a 72 inch sword in (72.7 to be precise) or flat along the diagonal and still getting 59 inches. I know that this is very impractical for packing purposes, but it seems easier than paying $350 or cutting a sword in half.
Not really, in addition to the 42 inch length limit, there is an overall dimension (length+girth) limit as well, and a 42inch cube would shatter it by a factor of 3 atleast.
I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad knews, but shipping from us to Slovenia would be $474.43.
You may be able to get it cheaper (I almost guarantee it) by ordering it from a retailer on the continent, like our new Spanish one. The sword itself will be more expensive, but shipping should be vastly cheaper.
And for croatia it is $610.
Is there information for shipping to India?
My address is
206/1, 25th Cross,
5th Main, 3rd Block,
India is the same boat as Australia, $350.
You say delivery is set to be 3rd week in december. What postal service would be used and how long would it take to ship to UK? Would I get one for Christmas?
I don’t know, because I don’t know how fast UK Post will move that time of year. Sometimes, packages get delayed that time of year.
Is there information for shipping to Israel (Tel-Aviv)?
I really hope a better solution comes out for Australia becuase I would love to collect these swords. Will keep checking back in the hopes something appears.
do you or anyone have any information on how hard it is to travel internationally with a sword from the US? By which I mean, not actually brandish it as you pass the metal detectors or threaten airport security with it (“unhand me, you knaves”), but if your suitcase would be opened, and the sword possibly confiscated, if you stuffed it in under your pants and shirts and underwear. I’ve had friends with weird things happening to their luggage, especially on transatlantic flights, like not find computer parts they packed or notices saying that their suitcases were opened.
You can have firearms (properly declared) in your checked luggage, a sword is fine, more likely though will be difficulty in finding a suitcase big enough for Longclaw.
Not on carryon though. Checked luggage only.
I’m interested in purchasing Longclaw to add to my collection, however the postage is a little extreme.
As a matter of curiosity I went on to the Entertainment Earth website, who I’ve ordered swords from in the past.
I compared postage prices for a couple of different swords (eg. Glamdring 49.5″)
They have two postage options to Australia.
UPS International Express for $261.00 US
UPS International Priority for $174.00 US (approx)
Can you explain why this might be the case?
If I could get the $174 Shipping I would buy Longclaw in a heartbeat.
Longclaw is bigger than Glamdring (30% heavier and bigger dimensionally), which is why the UPS bill is more. They also may have a discount we do not.
And I don’t know how they do International Priority, I expect no one has ever ordered the sword from them from Australia before. And quite frankly, $174 is really high for mail service.
Australia is a 42 inch country. If you like, we can try to ship it to you in Australia using the postal service. The cost will be $90. The catch is, if it is rejected the risk is on you. If the sword isn’t returned to us, we can’t refund your purchase price, and if they don’t refund the shipping, we can’t refund that either. If you want to take the risk and hope it slips through, we’d be glad to try.
Appreciate the offer for normal postage, but it really isn’t worth taking the risk.
I currently do security for Australian Air Express, who accept all incoming UPS freight.
Is there any chance you could send me the dimensions and weight of the package so I can make some enquires from my end?
It 610$ for Croatia?! i mean…. WTF man?
That is what it is. We can’t mail it, its too big, and that is what UPS charges, Fedex would be similar, and those are the only two options.
We really need some other European and Australian retailers to come on board, they could import them for far less, but with the economy people are reluctant to take on new product lines. If you know of a local retailer, ask them to look into carrying our products.
And no updates for Philippines yet? :((
Both Romania and Phillipines are beyond the length limit, so I’d need a full address to work up a UPS quote.
I’m considering picking up Longclaw in the States this summer from a friend.
I just need to know what the overall dimensions of the box are.
What about South Africa? I’m really keen to order one.
Hey, I noticed Israel still has a blank sheet on the shipping thing, saying it needs adresses… well, as it happens, I live there and thought to give a hand on that!
Is there any way I could contact Valyrian Steel? email or something?
Pingback: Bookmarks about Norway
Say I did send this to a friend or got it sent to me while I was overseas, would I have any issues bringing it to Australia myself in luggage?
No you shouldn’t.
What’s the cost/do you send to Brazil ?
What would be the shipping costs to johannesburg, south africa
I would also want to know shipping costs to George, South Africa please.
I think about $100 the cheapest way.
I would need a full address to check, but let me warn you, it is likely to be a few hundred dollars.
valyrian, are you talking about to south africa, or to brazil?
Are you able to send the damacus Long claw in china? in Shanghai?
What about Poland?
I’m interested in Lonclaw and then Ice of course.
Wroclaw is my city in here.
What about Iceland?
Iceland should workf or $70, I have added it to the list so you can check out.
On the 42″ limit, is that a limit on the long side or of a diagonal?
If 42″ is the limit of the long side then you could pack the sword of up to 46″ in a box that is 42″ x 20″ by putting it in diagonally.
I know this is pretty old, but how much would it cost to ship to Cordoba, Argentina? Zip code is 5000.
