Most domestic orders for Longclaw have shipped out (a few people requested delays). We’ll be putting your tracking numbers into the system just as soon as possible, but possibly not until tommorow morning, but they all went out.

International, now it is looking like they may not go out until after Christmas unfortunately. See, we had all the domestic orders shipped from the port to save time so they could arrive before Christmas, we didn’t ship them ourselves. But the people at the port can’t do international, so we need to wait to ship the international ones until we get the delivery, which will take a week or so. Then with all the holiday days off between now and then a week of business days is a week and a half of actual days so we may not have them in our possession to ship until after Christmas.

Longclaw is in stock. Order your’s now if you haven’t yet.

Domestic orders will ship out on Monday, in plenty of time for Christmas.

International orders I’m afraid will be another week, and likely will not make it by Christmas, the warehouse where the swords are at right now can only ship out domestically, a portion will be moved to another location for the International shipping, but that’ll take a week or so for the transit.

We hope to start shipping Longclaw to customers around Dec 16th or 17th. I wish it could be sooner but thats that. That is going to really push Christmas delivery.

In light of this we’ve added an air shipping option to checkout allowing customers to choose air shipping. This is for domestic orders only, and should result in delivery 1 day after we ship it, which vastly increases the chances of Christmas delivery.

For people who have already placed orders, again domestic orders only, who would like to upgrade, we’ll have to process those requests manually, you’ll have to contact us.

I need to announce two things.

1. Longclaw is now available for wholesale ordering. If you’re a retailer and you haven’t been contacted by us yet, contact us if you wish to carry the sword, contact us soon if you wish to have it by Christmas.

2. Needle will be high carbon steel.

Yes, one day, we would like to make a custom scabbard for Longclaw, it’ll depend on interest though.

Until then, we’ve had a few questions about sheaths, and yes, this universal sword sheath will work with Longclaw.

Now, a shipping update. We hope to begin shipping Longclaw the third week of December – Christmas delivery will be close, but still possible.

I’m sure this’ll be on his blog, but just in case you don’t read it.

I got an email from him this morning.

HBO has given the production order for A GAME OF THRONES pilot.

Great news for all of us fans.

I am not a photographer, it is important you understand that because otherwise these pictures may seem embarrassing to publish. If you want to see the professionally done Longclaw pictures you can do so here. Now, some people have been asking for more, so I thought I’d take my camera out and do some “candid” shots of Longclaw. So here you go:

The Life of Longclaw

Longclaw started one morning going out with his bud, Strider’s Ranger Sword, to do some rangering. Longclaw talked about how they’d do rangering beyond the wall, Strider’s Ranger Sword talked about rangering with the remnant DĂșnedain up north of Rivendell. Both had rangered up in cold northern regions, so they had a lot in common, which was probably why they were best bros.

Zar’roc sword of Eragon tried to tag along with the two real rangers, but they sent him back, explaining he wasn’t cool enough to hang with them.

Later that evening back at Strider’s Ranger Sword’s house Strider’s Ranger Sword invited his girlfriend, Hadhafang, over and had her bring a friend. She brought Glamdring. Hadhafang and Strider’s Ranger Sword were of course all over each other, having been dating since Strider’s Ranger Sword came to Rivendell. But Glamdring and Longclaw hit it off as well. Longclaw was immediately drawn to her nice elven curves and hourglass figure, and Glamdring appreciated a guy with broad shoulders.

They all settled in to watch HBO’s Rome on DVD, and decided it was a very well made series and that they hoped that they’d see the same creativity and skill brought to another series one day…

So Longclaw and Glamdring began dating, one one date they went out to dinner and the movies (they saw 300. Glamdring was bored, Longclaw loved it – taking special interest in the concept of a small group of men defending against a huge army while their country was divided and not providing support.)

After the date they went for a walk and were accosted by Witchking, the leader of the Nazgul, a local biker gang. Longclaw knew a thing or two about fighting the undead, having by in a scrape that cost him his pommel. So he lit the guy up, literally, and taught him a lesson. Glamdring was impressed.

Longclaw and Glamdring’s relationship progressed. One day they went ballroom dancing, and Longclaw got to show Glamdring he wasn’t all brawn, he had a softer and agile side as well. He was castle raised afterall, and had a long history in the halls of great lords, he hadn’t always been a ranger. He charmed her off her feet.

It turns out it was a special night, because Longclaw proposed and Glamdring accepted, they were to be married.

The betrothal was brief, to honor all beliefs, they said their vows in front of the heart tree of Winterfell, and then finished the ceremony in a chapel dedicated to the Maiden. Their friends were all in attendance. It was a good day.

A few months later Glamdring had news, she was pregnant. Longclaw was ecstatic, he thought the rangering life would preclude him from having a family, and now he was married with a little one on the way. They went to the doctor and had an ultrasound done, the ultrasound looked like a little needle… They would have to wait some months though to see their baby in the flesh, erm steel, as it were.

Don’t forget to Buy Your Longclaw.

Longclaw is being produced as we speak, the first 600 (the first shipment) should arrive by Christmas. Late November or early December to be precise. Needle will be entering the prototyping phasing of production soon as well. And, we have decided sword #3 will be Ice.

We’ve had a change of heart based on user feedback. We didn’t think checks would be a big deal but apparently they are for some people, especially those foreign customers who have to make special arrangements with their bank to get one. Originally we were always going to open up credit card ordering on September 1st, but we decided to move it up.

If you’ve already placed your order and indicated mail order form payment, please continue with that payment method. Else, all new orders are welcome to be made by either method, except people from high risk fraud countries (Russia, China, Malaysia, among others) who we will require check payments from still.
